Some breweries stake their reputation solely on their outstanding beer making
skills while others build a great place to drink beer, OddStory Brewing Company in Chattanooga
Tennessee decided to do both. From the moment we walked in the door we felt the
vibe. Before I ordered my first beer I walked up to the front of the room to get a
closer look at the this funky trio female band called SPINSTER. Stand-up base,
washboard, toy piano, accordian and silky voices. It
was so funky cool. That's exactly what I've been looking for. A place with great
beer, a local crowd and atmosphere that makes you want to stay. The place pulled
people in the door even if they were just walking by. My Dad (83 yrs old) met
several people who were anxious to share some local stories, including the owner,
Brian. After talking for a few minutes he treated us to a private tour of the brew
house. He and his son have been brewing in downtown Chattanooga for almost 1 year
and by all signs, they're doing well. Instead of investing in stocks, Brian
invested in his son and his dream to open his own brewery. It's paying dividends
for sure. The place
was full, the good vibe spilled out onto sidewalk where people can sit at window
seats to enjoy the cool evening air and have a great view of the tap room. We
enjoyed a taste of their flagship Vienna Blonde, Vienna Lager and then fell in love
with the Smoked Doppelbock. I finished off with glass of Cherry Berry Berliner
Weisse, a great sour.
The place had a great range of delicious beers, great atmosphere and friendly
people at every table - even standing in line at the bar. I highly recommend
OddStory if you are fortunate to be near Chattanooga, TN.
